Mustang
Depot's FSI kit is the crappiest kit on the market..... |
Here is the current update on the body
work. Mason Road Paint and Body agreed to take on the installation
of the body kit, and final paint. They have done some other
Eleanor's, and knew exactly what I needed. That was, until they saw
the kit from Mustang Depot. Previously, they worked with the Maier
kit, which they were happy with. I won't go into all the details,
but the kit took them a lot of extra time to fit and make work (many
pieces had to be "re-built" to fit the car. Below are some
pictures that tell the story..... I will be updating more in the coming
weeks.
|
Let's start at the back of the car. You
can see how great this "high quality" kit fits. You can
see most of the parts hardly fit the contour of the car, or are
completely off.. |

Thanks to Nick at the shop, the
team worked diligently, and really used all their skills (and patience)
to sort the issues. Here are some pictures of the almost final
product..... |

The front fit was a disaster -
including fitment as well as the mounting studs pulling out of the
fiberglass.. Here is the the outcome after a lot of hard work. |

The lower scoops did not fit the
contour of the car at all. They had to be cut to make them
work. Also the sides of the car had to be cutout so the pieces
could be recessed into the car and align with the door. |

So far, they have done a pretty
good job of not trashing out my engine compartment! |
